# An Overview of PT Tempo Scan Pacific Tbk: Excellence in Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Goods
Established as a pillar of the Indonesian business landscape, PT Tempo Scan Pacific Tbk has evolved from its origins as PT PD Tempo—founded in November 1953—into a powerhouse of pharmaceutical production and distribution. Following a strategic restructuring in 1991, the company transformed from its legacy identity as PT Scanchemie, which first pioneered large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing in 1970. Today, the Tempo Group represents a diversified conglomerate that has expanded its expertise into cosmetics and high-demand consumer goods, consistently setting standards for quality and operational efficiency across the nation.
## The Strategic Power of the Distribution Division
The Distribution Division serves as the operational backbone of Tempo Scan. By maintaining a highly synchronized relationship with both the Manufacturing and Marketing divisions, this unit ensures that high-quality health, pharmaceutical, and consumer products reach every corner of the archipelago.
Managing Indonesia’s complex logistical landscape, the division operates a robust network designed to meet the demands of three primary market sectors:
* Pharmacy Channel: Ensuring vital medicine availability for clinics and hospitals.
* Modern Trade: Supplying large-scale retail chains and pharmacies.
* General Trade: Servicing traditional markets and independent outlets.
With 51 branches strategically positioned throughout Indonesia, the division operates from its corporate headquarters at Tempo Scan Tower, Jakarta, driving nationwide accessibility for its extensive product portfolio.
